GENERAL OVERVIEW

Information regarding the different course offerings can be found in this section.

All the courses we offer are based on an adaptation by Beth H. Slingerland of the multisensory approach of Dr. Samuel T. Orton and Anna Gillingham. The techniques she developed are based on sound neurological principles of learning and give children the necessary tools to be successful readers, writers and spellers.

Comprehensive Courses

The intensive Comprehensive Courses allow participants to study the causes of specific language disability (dyslexia) and provides understanding and training in techniques that can be effectively implemented in a preventive and/or remedial program of instruction. All of the Comprehensive Courses are accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC).

Short Courses

Short courses are offered to provide exposure to various parts of the comprehensive programs. Carol Murray advanced training sessions are also available.

Professional Development

In-Service sessions or Professional Development sessions can be tailor-made to the needs of the audience and can address background, basic techniques or advanced skills.
