The Slingerland Approach is a structured, multisensory way of teaching reading, writing, spelling, and language. Lessons are carefully planned so that students build skills one step at a time. Because lessons are differentiated (designed with your specific student in mind), teachers are able to meet your child where they are and help them grow.

Typical Language Development
Children learn language (oral and written) through three main pathways:

Challenges with Literacy
For some, these three pathways work together easily. For others, one pathway may be weaker or harder to use. This can make reading, writing, or spelling more difficult—even for bright, capable students.
