Slingerland Faculty Senate Meeting - Spring 2025

Join us for the next Full Faculty Senate Meeting. This session is open to all current members of the Faculty Senate committees, certified Teachers and Instructors of Teachers, and those currently working toward certification.

Faculty Senate meetings are held online to ensure the widest possible group of people can attend. For registrants unable to attend in person, the meeting materials and video of the meeting will be sent later via email.

February 9, 2025: Focus on Intern Classes and Instructor Certification

For the last two years, the Slingerland Certification Committee has been studying, revising, and piloting an updated certification process for both the Teacher and Instructor of Teacher levels.

The Certification Committee members will lead this session with a focus on explaining the rationale behind their work and go into detail on the current processes. The session will include activities to align expectations regarding observing and providing feedback on Slingerland lessons.

Attendees will receive the updated certification guides. These guides include:

• model Slingerland lesson plans

• sample Teacher level portfolio submission

• Instructor of Teachers level practical exam questions

Certification Reminder:

Anyone seeking initial certification or renewal of certification must attend a Slingerland Faculty Senate meeting. Attending this session meets that requirement.
